Outdoorsman Bonanza The Outdoorsman
Bonanza will be held Saturday, April 3, 2004 at
the The Stanly County Agri-Civic Center. The ADDC
will be giving away $100,000 in prizes. Prizes
will be given away every 5 minutes.

Stanly County Celebrity Golf Benefit
Stanly County Celebrity Golf Benefit
presents the Bud Shootout Wednesday, April 14 at
Badin's Stanly County Club. It is a four-man
captain's choice with tee times starting at 1:00
p.m. Entry fee is $50. Prizes, autographs and
memorabilia auctions will be available. Call

Albemarle Tee Ball
Registration Registration for Albemarle Tee
Ball will be held March 1-5, 8:30am-5pm weekdays
at the Rock Creek Park office. Tee Ball is an
instructional, non-competitive baseball program
for boys and girls born between June 1, 1997 and
July 31, 1999. Fun and Fundamentals come first!
Cost is $11 for city residents and $22 for
non-city residents. First time participants must
bring a copy of birth certificate at time of
registration. For more information please contact

Carolina Junction Carolina Junction,
a Raleigh, NC Bluegrass band with local ties to
perform at Oakboro Music Hall Saturday April 3,
2004 at 7:30pm.
Albemarle native Kevin Hopkins and his
bluegrass band, Carolina Junction will make their
Oakboro Music Hall debut on Saturday April 3, 2004
at 7:30pm. The band plays the best in traditional
and contemporary bluegrass music
Kevin grew up in Albemarle and attended East
Carolina University where he graduated in 1980.
His family remains in Stanly County and he is glad
to be returning for this premier engagement. He is
grateful for his parents Nelle and Frank Hopkins
for giving him lots of musical opportunities as he
was growing up. Kevin has two brothers in the
area. Scott Hopkins(City of Albemarle) and Todd
Hopkins(Hopkins Home Crafters). He would like to
invite all of his old friends as well as all
bluegrass fans to come out for some good foot
tapping sweet sounding bluegrass
music. |
Winter Ball The Stanly Memorial
Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual Winter
Ball from 7-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb.28,in the SMH
Family & Education Center. For ticket
